Suzuki's Fredrik Noren Continues Impressive Run in the Top-Ten

Alex Martin and Kyle Peters Overcome Adversity in Hard-Fought 250 Efforts

Fredrik Noren (#101) shows consistent speed and determination on his RM-Z450.

Brea, CA (July 29, 2019) - The JGRMX/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team ventured to the picturesque Washougal, Washington circuit this past weekend for round nine of the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Fredrik Noren fought hard on a slippery track to log consistent moto scores in finishing eighth overall on his RM-Z450. Suzuki RM-Z250 rider Alex Martin overcame a first moto crash to finish ninth overall. Teammate Kyle Peters passed over half of the field in the first moto to score valuable points.

Noren felt comfortable on his RM-Z450 during press day, and carried that confidence into Saturday’s motos. Two top-ten starts and steady lap times netted him 8-8 moto scores for eighth overall. It marked his fourth straight top-ten overall finish since filling in for the injured Justin Hill as part of the JGRMX/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team.

“It was nice to ride press day and get a flow with the track,” said Noren. “I cannot believe how comfortable I am on the Suzuki RM-Z450 after not much time at all. I expect my results to continue improving. Washougal was a race I can build off of.”

Alex Martin (#26) pushes through the muddy conditions to remain in the top-ten.

In the 250 ranks, Alex Martin was excited to build on his second-place overall finish from the previous weekend. The Minnesota native qualified inside the top-ten, but was derailed in the first moto. He rebounded in the second moto to score seventh place and ninth overall for the day.

“Washougal is a tricky track for me, so I’m happy to just be moving on from this race healthy,” said Martin. “In the first moto I had a good pace going while running in seventh position. Then I swapped out coming into a left-hand corner and went over the bars. I spun out of the gate in the second moto and was buried in the pack, but I made aggressive passes right away to finish seventh. My riding was decent. I just need better starts.”

“Alex was moving up well in the first moto, but the crash really set him back,” added Jeremy Albrecht, Team Manager. “The second moto was better for all of our guys, including Alex. We need to practice starts and get out front at Unadilla.”

Kyle Peters (#55) soars through the checkered flag on his RM-Z250.

Kyle Peters was determined to show his full potential at the Washougal track. Although the North Carolina native got caught with another rider in the first moto, Peters made better strides in the second. Peters aspires to run up front when the series resumes following a weekend break.

The JGRMX/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team will venture to New Berlin, New York on August 10th for the Unadilla National, in what will be the tenth round of the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
